Children’s Book Week at the Bairnsdale Library
Dress Up Competition and activity session. Come dressed as your favourite book character, listen to stories and take part in your very own mini dinosaur excavation dig. A costume parade will be held with prizes awarded for the best dressed.

LEGO Club at the East Gippsland Library
Bookings are now being taken for the Library LEGO Club being held at the Bairnsdale Library on Wednesday, 12 September from 4.00pm – 5.00pm. LEGO Club is for children aged 5 – 12 and bookings are essential. Phone 5152 4225 or book in person at the library.
Mobile Planetarium at the East Gippsland Library
The Planetarium is coming. Experience the wonders of the universe. Science Discovery Zone is a mobile planetarium and Science Education Dome. Using a combination of immersive full dome digital projections and full dome movies, presenter Nick Burbush will teach a variety of Earth and Space Science subjects.

Sisterhood of East Gippsland presents the Bairnsdale Stop the Traffick 5K Walk
The US state department reports that 600-800,000 across women and children (mostly girls) will be the unwilling victims of human trafficking across borders globally each year. Girls will be tricked into chasing the promise of a better life – instead being sold into slavery and abuse.
What: You are invited to join our Stop the Traffick 5K Walk, raising funds and awareness for Captivating International and the incredible work of their partners to intercept people being trafficked throughout Asia.
When: Monday 3rd September. Sausage sizzle and market stall from 3:30pm, Registrations at 5pm, ready to start walking at 6pm
Where: Starting and finishing in the Bairnsdale Shopping Mall, then walking through Bairnsdale CBD.
Cost: Bring your cash donation (any amount) on the day.
Wear: Something red – to STOP THE TRAFFICK!
