It has been both energising and exciting to welcome the students back to School this week and to hear their chatter as they pass by my office. Our Year 7 students appear to have settled in very well, which is testament to their preparation and our great transition program. We continue to focus on the transition process, which will take some time for most Year 7 students. Our focus remains on building connections with and between students, which is critical to their wellbeing. Unfortunately, a mix up with Year 7 stationery lists caused some confusion, but I have been impressed by the resilience most have demonstrated and we are now well on the way to sorting out this issue.
On Monday, Garnsey Campus will celebrate the induction of our 2019 School Prefects at assembly, where we will be joined by the Acting Chair of the Board Mrs Vicki McLeod and Prefects’ families. I congratulate the following Year 12 students on their appointment as School leaders in 2019.
School Captains: Erika Allen and George Lancaster
Vice Captains: Grace Mackie and Charlie Sargant
Prefects: Anna Brougham, Simone Clamp, Isabelle Condron, Georgia Cheney, Tom Finlay, Ben Harms, Will Johnson, Susannah Keily, Cameron Mekken and Jack White.
