With the swimming carnival completed, our attention has quickly shifted to our future production of The Wizard of Oz and the announcement of roles. Mr Brett Glover compared the roles in a production to the parts of a car – each has a specific function, but the car needs every single one to work properly – just as all roles, big and small, contribute to the success of a production. He spoke of the importance of us all working together to bring the Wizard of Oz to life.

When the announcements came I was proud of the wonderful reactions of our students in sharing in each other’s success. There was cheering and laughter as each role was acknowledged. So let the fun begin!

A number of parents attended our VOS information session run by Mr Neil Storer. I can only encourage you to please log on to VOS and discover the great benefits of our new learning management system.  If you have any questions, we are more than willing to assist you. Please explore your child’s class page to engage in their learning.

We will discuss more about VOS at the Parent Information Evening on Thursday next week. I encourage you to come along to meet your child’s class teacher and to discuss the expectations of each class, the curriculum, procedures for success and how you can engage in your child’s learning. Please see the timetable for the evening below.

Today at Fellowship the students from Kurrajong spoke of the things they were looking forward to this year. The varied responses demonstrated the diversity of interests and passions in our students. Also on show was the vast learning opportunities we provide for our students. Our age champions received their medals and Year 6 House leaders proudly accepted the winning cup for Blundell Bogong.

In closing, I draw your attention to an email I have sent today to all our community members, regarding the progress of Caitlyn Fischer’s memorial garden. On Friday, 1 March, from 3:30-5:00pm, we will have a ‘Plant a Pot for our Play Space’ afternoon followed by a sausage sizzle. Full details in my email. I hope you can join us for this very special community event.

Have a lovely weekend.

Virginia Evans
