Head of St Anne's Campus

I would like to begin by wishing everyone a safe and happy Easter holiday with family and friends. On Thursday, Chaplain Jackie organised an engaging set of Easter activities for all of our St Anne’s students within the cathedral grounds. We learnt a new Easter song, created a cross using palm fronds, wrote a prayer on a ribbon and attached it to a Jacaranda tree, and listened to an Easter story. The highlight was spending time with Wonka and Plonka, two donkeys, who are a part of the Donkey Society of Victoria. Thank you to our Chaplain for piecing our Easter celebration together.

At the beginning of this year we wanted to create opportunities to build relationships between students, parents and teachers. Often Term One provides the best opportunity for students to further develop their social and emotional skills. Our teachers have worked hard to make learning engaging, relevant and fun. They have spent many hours before and after school, planning, making resources and assessing our students learning. On behalf of our school community, thank you to our teachers.

Citizen of the Term

This morning we celebrated our Citizen of the Term. For our new families,  Citizen of the Term is awarded to students who consistently demonstrate our CLERR values, or have strived to improve in one or more of these values. Although it is challenging to select just one student from each class, we also appreciate the opportunity to acknowledge those whose actions speak louder than words. We also acknowledged students who have displayed excellent leadership skills during our specialist lessons. Mrs Janet Roberstson, who runs our tuckshop, recognised a student from each class who is polite and regularly uses their manners when visiting the tuckshop.  Congratulations to the following students who are our Citizens of the Term:

Bass: Elena Lazzaro

Mawson: Mila Harper

Bradman: Kobi Stevens

McCubbin: Oliver Stephenson

Chisholm: Milla Said

Barton: Christopher Reid (to be awarded at our next Fellowship)

Tasman: Ellie Brown

Flynn: Isabella Spoljaric

Kingsford Smith: Max Knibbs

Freeman: Kody Said

Cuthbert: Mia Del Busso

Hollows: Isabelle Carroll

Goolagong: Leah Roberts

Mackellar: Jessica Martin

Japanese Trip

There will be plenty of tears from our parents as we wave goodbye to our selected Year 5 and 6 students travelling to Japan these April holidays. They will be spending ten days exploring Japan’s culture, food, customs, theme parks and much more. A huge thank you to Mrs Jan Chalmer, Mrs Rebekah Tayler and Mrs Etsuko Boulton for leading this tour.

Term Two

Just a reminder that Term Two begins on Tuesday 23 April and students are expected to be in full Winter uniform, along with neat and tidy hair. It will be a tricky first week, with school beginning on Tuesday, and no school on Thursday the 25 April because of ANZAC day. We will be acknowledging ANZAC day on Friday 26 April at 9 am.

Parents & Friends

We have a growing number of parents joining our St Anne’s Parents and Friends group. A ‘Save the Date’ for our Trivia Night has been emailed to our School community and put on VOS. On the 24 May, from 7 pm, we will be running our P&F Trivia Night in the Lorna Sparrow Hall. Other key events are planned for throughout the year, with a key focus on bringing our campus community together, with some fundraising on the side. We are raising money for our new Years 3 – 6 adventure playground.

Enjoy your Easter holidays
