Problem Solving is an important skill in Mathematics, where we ask students to use their knowledge and skills to work through a problem.
In Years 7 and 8, students are required to complete Problem Solving Tasks each semester, which contributes to a grade on their report. They complete tasks using concrete materials and a range of strategies and skills. They are then required to write a structured report that details their strategies, shows working out and any diagrams or tables that may have been used to find the solution.
The students below are working on using Algebra to find expressions for the area of individual shapes and also the larger shape they form together.
