One of our key roles in the Pathways Department at Garnsey Campus is to offer support and strategies to our teachers so that, when required, they can make the most suitable adjustments to the individual programs of our students.
Learning support is offered in the classroom to those students who meet the set criteria for support.
Some of our students are on modified programs, which have been created after consultation and collaboration with parents, teachers and sometimes-external professionals. Our aim with these programs is to provide the student with an opportunity to achieve their best and experience success in a way that is appropriate for them.
In Pathways, we also assist our teachers to interpret and implement recommendations that have been made in reports from speech pathologists, psychologists, audiologists and other allied health professionals. These reports often provide us with valuable information and insight into the ways that our students can best be supported.
As we head into Rollover, our department will focus on creating or updating learner profiles and adjustment matrices for students, as well as working out our in-class support timetables.
We look forward to another year of supporting our teachers and students in 2018.
