Scholarship Information

Gippsland Grammar is an Anglican co-educational day and boarding school catering for the needs of children from ELC to Year 12. We offer a broad academic education, a wide co-curricular program and have achieved outstanding success in the VCE years.

 

Gippsland Grammar offers a number of scholarships in different categories:

  • Academic Scholarships (Closed)
  • General Excellence Scholarships (Closed)
  • Music Scholarships (Open - Applications close Friday 14 May, 2021)
  • Junior School Entry Scholarships (Open - Applications close Monday 26 July, 2021)

 

All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal and are subject to an annual review. The year levels offered and number of scholarships awarded each year is dependent upon the quality of the applicants and the availability of places.

Bairnsdale Junior School Entry Scholarships

The School will award scholarships to students of high academic ability. All candidates for the Bairnsdale Junior School Entry Scholarships must sit for an age and year level appropriate examination. Areas tested will be reading, mathematics and story writing.

 

  • Students not currently attending Gippsland Grammar are eligible for this scholarship if entering Years 3, 4, 5 or 6 in 2022.
  • This scholarship will carry between 20% and 33% remission of tuition fees.

 

Scholarships are tenable for the whole period of primary schooling, and are re-awarded annually provided that the holders continue to show good academic progress and contribute to School life.

St Anne's Junior School Entry Scholarships

The School will award scholarships to students of high academic ability. All candidates for the St Anne's Junior School Entry Scholarships must sit for an age and year level appropriate examination. Areas tested will be reading, mathematics and story writing.

 

  • Students not currently attending Gippsland Grammar are eligible for this scholarship if entering Years 3 or 4 in 2022.
  • This scholarship will carry between 20% and 33% remission of tuition fees.

 

Scholarships are tenable for the whole period of primary schooling, and are re-awarded annually provided that the holders continue to show good academic progress and contribute to School life.

Music Scholarships

 

The School will award scholarships to students who demonstrate strong musical potential. Students sitting for the Music Scholarship are not required to sit for the ACER scholarship examination; however, they are welcome to do so if they wish. A Music Scholarship application form must be completed by the candidate applying for the Music Scholarship. Music Scholars are expected to select classroom music through to the conclusion of Year 10. It is strongly recommended they select VCE Music Performance at VCE year levels.

 

  • Students currently attending Gippsland Grammar are eligible for this scholarship if entering Years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 in 2022.
  • Students not currently attending Gippsland Grammar are eligible for this scholarship if entering Years 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 in 2022.

Scholarship Examination

CLOSING DATE Entries close at the School on Monday 26 July, 2021.
CENTRE

Examinations will be held at:
Bairnsdale Campus, 86 Bullumwaal Road, Wy Yung, and
St Anne's Campus, 52 Raymond Street, Sale. 

EXAMINATION DATE Monday 2 August, 2021.
PROCEDURE The Examination is timed to commence at 9:30am and candidates should report at 9:15am to Bairnsdale Campus Reception OR the St Anne's Junior School Library. Children sitting for the examinations will finish at approximately 12:30pm. All materials which will be needed are provided at the examination room. Full details will be forwarded once candidates are registered.
OUTCOMES

Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted during the week beginning Monday August 16 with all students notified of the outcome by Monday August 23, 2021.
