Scholarship Information

Gippsland Grammar is an Anglican co-educational day and boarding school catering for the needs of children from ELC to Year 12. We offer a broad academic education, a wide co-curricular program and have achieved outstanding success in the VCE years.

 

Gippsland Grammar offers a number of scholarships in different categories:

  • Academic Scholarships (2022 entry open - Apply Now)
  • General Excellence Scholarships (2022 entry open - Apply Now)
  • Music Scholarships (2022 entry opening March 2021)
  • Junior School Entry Scholarships (2022 entry opening June 2021)

 

All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Principal and are subject to an annual review. The year levels offered and number of scholarships awarded each year is dependent upon the quality of the applicants and the availability of places. Scholarships carry between 20% and 50% remission of tuition fees.

Academic Scholarships

The School will award scholarships to students of outstanding academic ability. All candidates for the academic scholarships must sit for the ACER scholarship examination.

 

  • Students currently attending Gippsland Grammar are eligible for this scholarship if entering Years 5, 6, 7 or 11 in 2022.
  • Students not currently attending Gippsland Grammar are eligible for this scholarship if entering Years 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 in 2022.

General Excellence Scholarships

The School will award scholarships to students who have above average performance in their academic studies, plus involvement in a number of extra curricular areas, e.g. drama, sport, music, community service. All candidates for the General Excellence Scholarships must sit for the ACER scholarships examination. A General Excellence Scholarship application form must be completed by the candidate applying for the General Excellence Scholarship.

 

  • Students currently attending Gippsland Grammar are eligible for this scholarship if entering Years 7 or 11 in 2022.
  • Students not currently attending Gippsland Grammar are eligible for this scholarship if entering Years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 in 2022.

Scholarship Examination

CLOSING DATE Entries close on Monday 8 February, 2021.
CENTRE

The name of the Examination Centre is Gippsland Grammar, and the actual location will be Blackwood Court at the Senior School, with entry from Princes Highway, Sale. 

EXAMINATION DATE Saturday 27 February, 2021.
PROCEDURE The Examination is timed to commence at 9:00am and candidates should report no later than 8:45am. The candidates are usually busy until about 12:00 noon. Morning tea will be provided for candidates and parents during a break. Candidates must bring two B or HB pencils, a pencil eraser, and two black pens. All the materials you will need, other than pencils, erasers and pens, are provided at the examination room.
SCHOOL TOURS School tours will be conducted throughout the Examination morning for parents and family members.
ENTRY FEE

$110.00 per entry for Academic Scholarships.

There is no additional charge for the General Excellence Scholarship.

$210.00 per academic entry sitting at an overseas venue.

GENERAL INFORMATION

 Students sitting for the ACER CSTP scholarship examination will sit at the following levels: 

those commencing Years 7 or 8 in 2022 Level 1
those commencing Years 9 or 10 in 2022 Level 2
those commencing Year 11 in 2022 Level 3
